The New Reality For Golf Courses
Golf courses are struggling. Not exactly a news flash, is it? It is clear from the deals for daily fee golfers we pass along in this golf blog, to the unadvertised specials for membership at numerous private clubs -- courses are struggling to survive.
The good news is they are managing to do that. But the issues go deeper than the slumping economy. I sat down yesterday with the new president of the Golf Association of Philadelphia, Frank Rutan, to get his perspective on those problems and the game in general.
