Union Members Rally Outside Tropicana Casino

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) – Thousands of Local 54 union members rallied at Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City.

Thursday evening, casino union members rallied outside of the Tropicana Casino to protest the casinos refusal to bargain.

Employee contracts expired on September 15, 2011 for nine casinos and Local 54 has renegotiated contracts with eight of the casinos.

It is said that Tropicana is refusing to bargain.

This mirrors the 2004 strike that took place after contract negotiations broke down and 10,000 Local 54 members protested for 34 days.
