BLOG: Apple iPhone4 Settlement Site Up And Running

By Jim Donovan: Nearly two years after iPhone 4 owners complained about reception problems and dropped calls, they can now file a claim for a little pocket cash for their troubles.

A website in the so-called "Antennagate Class Action Settlement" is now up and running.

Originally as part of the settlement Apple agreed to pay $15 or give a free case to everyone in the United States who bought one of the popular phones. The bumper or other protective case on the phone eliminated, or at least greatly reduced, the problem.

It now turns out that it doesn't matter if you received a free bumper or not. As long as you don't actually use the bumper you can still register for your share of the settlement. So, if you took the bumper offered at the time, but aren't using it, now's your chance to make $15.

Apple is now in the process of alerting customers by e-mail about the settlement. You'll have 120 days to apply for the $15.
