March Marked All-Time High For Slots Revenue In Pennsylvania
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says the state set an all-time high for gross revenue from slot machines in March.
The gaming board said Tuesday that the more than $233.1 million in gross revenue from slots at the state's 11 casinos last month set an all-time high for any month since the first casino opened in November 2006. That breaks the previous record of $218.3 million in July.
The total represents an 8.5 percent increase from last March.
The latest figures include revenue include money from two test nights and one day of public operation at Valley Forge Casino Resort, which opened Saturday.
Gaming board spokesman Richard McGarvey says the latest figures show that the Pennsylvania market is still expanding and casinos are bringing more patrons in.
