Changing Times at Private Clubs
In the KYW Golf Report today I focus on the changing landscape when it comes to private clubs, with most of them struggling to find new members.
The buzz is that membership is even down at many of the elite clubs in the area, something that would have been unthinkable a decade ago.
A few clubs have barely escaped closure . At LuLu and Yardley, that meant a lease with a management company that got them out of debt and turned them into sister clubs. Brandywine nearly became the property of a multi-club family, and then came close to partnering with another nearby club, but in the end was purchased by real estate developer Louis Capano.
