Mayor Nutter Addresses Hospitality Students, Stresses Graduation Rate

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Mayor Nutter, and others, addressed hospitality students during the 19th Annual Hospitality Education Day.

The Multicultural Affairs Congress, a division of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, held its 19th Annual Hospitality Education Day Wednesday morning.

This event included 300 students within various hospitality programs throughout Philadelphia.

Throughout the day these students were addressed by various people, including Mayor Nutter, whose appearance reinforces his hopes of achieving a high school graduation rate of 80% by 2015.

Students received valuable information about industry opportunities, insider tips, training and educational options, initial internship screenings, summer employment, and scholarships.

This event was held in conjunction with The Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association and Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority.
