Delaware Mother, Son Accused Of Selling Narcotic Painkillers

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — A mother and son have been charged with selling narcotic painkillers from a shopping center parking lot in Newark, Delaware.

State police say 47-year-old Cherry Reed and her 26-year-old son, Wayne Reed, were arrested Thursday evening at the University Plaza Shopping Center.

Police say officers on a special task force watched Reed sell 10 Oxycodone pills. They searched the vehicle he was sitting in with his mother and another person and found a recently filled bottle of Oxycodone pills prescribed to Cherry Reed. Police also found a loaded handgun.

Wayne Reed faces gun, drug and conspiracy charges, while Cherry Reed faces drug and conspiracy charges.

Both have been released on bail.
