By Brad Segall

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (CBS) -- A West Norriton, Pa. man whom Radnor police were looking for in connection with a bank holdup this week in Villanova (see previous story) is reportedly in custody, after a two-hour standoff with police in Virginia.

Police in Fredericksburg, Va. say Michael Hamilton is hospitalized in serious condition after an apparent heroin overdose.

Police say the 25-year-old man rented a motel room on Thursday, then held police at bay during a tense standoff before he surrendered and was arrested.

Hamilton was wanted in Radnor for the  Tuesday afternoon holdup of a Sovereign Bank branch on Aldwyn Lane.

Authorities say he walked away from a work-release program in Montgomery County last week.

Radnor police notified police in Fredericksburg that Hamilton was in their city, and a clerk at the motel confirmed that a man matching a photograph had had just checked in.
