5-Year-Old Montgomery County Boy Killed By Falling Tree

UPPER PROVIDENCE, Pa. (CBS) -- A Montgomery County boy was killed Thursday afternoon during an accident involving a falling tree.

According to police, the incident occurred just after 5:00 p.m. in a trail near the 100 block of Larchwood Street in Upper Providence.

The 5-year-old boy was walking with his family in the wooded area near the Perkiomen Creek when a tree fell.

The boy was transported to Phoenixville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is unclear how the tree fell.
