Retired Middle School Teacher Accused Of Improper Sexual Contact With Students

By Jericka Duncan

LOWER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) - Lower Gwynedd Township Police announced the arrest of a former Wissahickon Middle School teacher on allegations that while he was a teacher he had indecent contact with two students.

"It scares me a little," said Kimberly Wolbach who has a sixth grader at Wissahickon Middle School.

Other parents with children at the middle school were surprised to learn retired teacher Ronald Goldberg has been charged with touching the private parts of two former students.

Police arrested Goldberg last Thursday after he surrendered to authorities. Investigators say while the 64-year-old was a teacher in the 2004 and 2008 school years, he inappropriately touched two of his students.

"I really don't have an opinion," said one parent who only wanted to be identified as Sharon. "We had him as a teacher in 6th grade and he was fabulous."

In a criminal complaint, obtained by Eyewitness News, investigators say one of the victims, now 15-years-old, reported the incidents to police in October of last year. Police later learned of a second alleged victim, who is now 20-years-old. Both former students say, while in school, Goldberg touched their breasts, bottoms and other parts of their bodies.

No one answered when Eyewitness News visited Goldberg's home. He posted bail. He's charged with indecent assault, corruption of minors and endangering the welfare of a child.
