Police Search For Stabbing Suspect In Old City Bar Altercation
By Pat Loeb
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are looking for a suspect in the critical stabbing of a bar patron in Old City, early Saturday morning.
Police say they know who they're looking for and he is no stranger to trouble. They won't release his name but they say they know his car and his license plate number and it's only a matter of time until they find and arrest him.
They say he was arguing with several people at the Recess Lounge, an after hours club near 2nd and Chestnut Streets, as it closed about 3 a.m. Saturday, and stabbed the victim in the left leg. The victim remains in critical condition at Thomas Jefferson hospital. Police are also withholding his identity.
The stabbing is the latest in a string of violent incidents occurring in Old City when the bars let out.
Last month, a 23-year-old man was beaten to death while hailing a cab on Chestnut St.
