Bensalem Police Charge Man With Attempted Rape, Kidnapping Of Neighbor

By Pat Loeb

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Bensalem woman had a narrow escape after a neighbor lured her into his apartment, then wrapped her head in packing tape.

Bensalem police have charged 31-year-old Michael Draves with attempted kidnapping and attempted rape in the Thursday morning incident. They say Draves asked the victim for help with something in his apartment in the Crest Wood complex, but when they entered he pulled out a knife and tried to force her into his bedroom.

She told police she started to scream and he wrapped her mouth, and then her whole head, in clear packing tape. She managed to get away. Police say her face and head were still wrapped in tape when they answered her 911 call.

According to police, Draves tied to hide in his apartment when they arrived but they forced their way in and took him into custody. He's being held in Bucks County prison on $750,000 dollars bail.
