Report: Plaxico Burress Wants To Play For The Philadelphia Eagles

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Former New York Giants and New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress wants to play for the Philadelphia Eagles next season, according 94 WIP's Howard Eskin via a Twitter report.

Last season was Burress' first in the league since serving almost two years in prison for criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment, after he accidentally shot himself in a New York nightclub. When Burress was released from prison, he was wearing a Phillies hat, fueling rumors he wanted to play for the Eagles last season.

Burress, 34 years old,  caught 45 passes for 613 yards and eight touchdowns for the Jets last season. In 144 games with the Steelers, Giants and Jets, Burress has 550 receptions for 8457 yards and 63 touchdowns.
