Officer Struck By Car In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia police officer was rushed to the hospital after being struck by a car Tuesday morning.

The incident happened shortly after 10 a.m. at 11th and Filbert Streets in Center City.

According to investigators, the 35-year-old female police officer stopped a car for a routine traffic stop.

Investigators say the driver of the stopped car somehow hit the officer during the stop.

The officer was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where she is listed in stable condition. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening, officials say.

The incident remains under investigation.
