Thousands At Penn's Landing Welcome 2012

By Cherri Gregg

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Thousands stood at Penn's Landing for Philadelphia's annual fireworks display.

The music, the colors and sounds of the explosions - elements of the show loved by all!

When asked what they thought of the fireworks, spectators responded, "Oh they were great, I loved them!"

"Awesome! Totally Awesome!"

Cherri Gregg: What was your favorite part?
Spectator: "The music that made you feel like you were running."

Families traveled to Philadelphia from all over for the festivities. One visitor was from Hatboro.

"I thought it was very good and impressive. It was definitely worth the trip to come down."

Some say the fireworks are a tradition and for others it's the first time. But for everyone, it was a great way to say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012.
