Legends from the Flyers and Rangers skate outdoors as the Winter Classic activities begin. Former Flyers center Eric Lindros is eager to put on the Flyers jersey again.

“I’m excited about it. This is a great weekend for hockey. This is a celebration of hockey. This is a wonderful time. It’s a great event. It’s big for the league, and it’s nice to come back and to be able to play in front of the Flyer faithful.”

Former Flyer winger Shjon Podein has a plan for the alumni game.

“Don’t get injured! Don’t do a lot of skating…so just stay away from the other players and hopefully don’t hurt myself!”

Given the history of bad blood between the Flyers and Rangers, Podein hinted that even in the alumni game there could be some chirping between the two sides.
