NHL: Flyers In Montreal, Eyeing Seventh Straight Win

By Matt Leon

MONTREAL, Que. (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Flyers will look to continue their red-hot play tonight as they visit the Canadiens in Montreal.

Peter Laviolette's squad has won six straight, the latest victory coming Tuesday night in Washington, 5-1.

The Flyers are having this success despite being without leading scorer Claude Giroux and captain Chris Pronger, but in their absence the team has gotten contributions from up and down the roster and great play in net from goalie Ilya Bryzgalov.

Philadelphia has 41 points, tops in the Atlantic Division, and tied with Boston for the top mark in the Eastern Conference.   Montreal comes into this one with 33 points; they are tied for third in the Northeast Division.

These two teams have split two matchups this season.  The Canadiens won 5-1 in Montreal on October 26th, the Flyers bounced back to grab a 3-1 decision at the Wells Fargo Center on November 25th.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Sam Carchidi, the Flyers beat writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer, to break down this game.
