Theatre: ''Jersey Boys'' Makes Another Philadelphia Run
By Bob Nelson
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As you may have heard, the Forrest Theatre is "reintroducing" the history-making musical "Jersey Boys," the revue of the legendary Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, musical group which has sold an incredible number of records and won all manner of awards to become a legend in the music industry.
A new version of the show is back in town, headlining another world tour.
There's certainly nothing new about the show that's already played to 13 million people around the world, has released a torrent of CDs, and has been termed by a number of major newspapers "a show business miracle."
This is the second tour of the show, with a new cast, set to run as far as Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
It's a show that brags that it "put New Jersey on the map." It's called family entertainment although there are those insisting it's too strong for the very young.
Time Magazine said, "It'll run for centuries," and recently it was named the best musical in Australia.
The new "Jersey Boys" will be at The Forrest through January 14th.
