Black Friday Guide: Unique Deals In The Philadelphia Area

Everyone knows there are tons of Black Friday deals all weekend at the chains—those annoying commercials won't let you forget it.

But this year, switch it up and go local. Here are our picks for a more unique Black Friday experience. Happy holidays (and savings)!

Score deals on lift passes online this Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Ride SEPTA one-way for free this Friday, courtesy of Constellation Energy. Two decorated Market-Frankford Line trains will depart both 69th Street Transportation Center and Frankford Transportation Center at 10 a.m., and a decorated Broad Street Line train will leave Fern Rock at 10 a.m. Some Regional Rail lines (see www.septa.org) will also offer special, decorated trains for the event.

And what's in store for passengers? Face-painting, goodie bags, live entertainment and of course, time with Santa and Mrs. Claus! Plus, post-train ride, visitors can enjoy downtown Philadelphia shopping and Black Friday deals.
