Surveillance Video Captures Man Carrying Shotgun In NJ Hotel Lobby

GALLOWAY Twp., N.J. (CBS) – Police are looking for a man who ran through a hotel lobby holding what appeared to be a shotgun.

The surveillance pictures are bizarre if not disturbing. They show a man running through the hotel lobby with what appears to be a rifle or shotgun.

For people who live near the Seaview Marriott in Galloway Township, it's given them a reason to lock their doors.

"Some neighbors are upset they were not notified. There was a rumor someone was held hostage," said Galloway Township resident Kevin Clark.

There certainly were no hostages and there were no shots fired. In fact, the man didn't even say one word to the employees at the front desk as he ran through the lobby and out to the golf lounge at around 7 p.m. Sunday night.

People who saw the surveillance pictures, told Eyewitness News they found the whole ordeal strange.

"It's so odd to see someone carrying a gun," said Danielle Leeds.

Fortunately no one was injured. The intentions of this man remain unclear.

He was wearing all black with a black pullover hat and a red bandanna on his face.

Whatever his reasons, Sunday night's incident has caught some off guard.

Police did set up a perimeter around the Seaside Marriott as they searched the grounds, but the suspect was not found.

He is only being described as possibly a Hispanic or light skinned black man with a stocky build.
