State Police Raid Strip Club In Port Richmond, Eight Arrested For Prostitution

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Pennsylvania State Police raided a strip club in Port Richmond where they say some of the employees were doing a lot more than dancing.

Sgt. Bill LaTorre says state police officers from the liquor Control Enforcement bureau had the club under investigation for some time.

"What our investigation found was that there were a number of women engaging in prostitution acts and that there were employees of the Penthouse Club facilitating and promoting that prostitution and that there was knowledge by management and owners of the club."

LaTorre says the raid should serve as a warning:

"We do want to get the word out to make sure that bar owners that are allowing prostitutes to engage in a business of prostitution on their liquor licensed premises -- they need to know that if they continue to allow it to happen they will probably see us in the very near future."
