West Chester Hosts #2 Bloomsburg for Homecoming

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - The West Chester Golden Rams will try to make it three straight wins on Saturday, but they will have to earn it as they host the #2-ranked team in Division II, the Bloomsburg Huskies.

The Golden Rams held off a gutty Cheyney University squad last weekend, 23-7, to improve to 4-3 on the season, but the competition gets much stiffer Saturday as the Huskies bring a 7-0 record to town.

What makes Bloomsburg so tough?

"They are always good in the running game," says West Chester head coach Bill Zwaan.  "They've got two really good running backs.   They're always going to control the football on the ground, and very rarely do they make mistakes.  That's the number one thing.  Defensively they are really sound -- they don't do a lot of crazy things.  What they do, they do well."

The Golden Rams offense is averaging 29 points per game, and Zwaan says they will have to perform well in this one.

"I feel good about where we are at.  I wish we had played a little bit better last week, no question about it.  But I do feel like we're moving in the right direction.  We've settled on a quarterback (sophomore Matt Carroll) right now, and if we can get healthy, if we can get both our running backs healthy for this game, that will help us a lot."

Kickoff is set for 2:00pm on Saturday.
