Wednesday's Child: Tyeisha

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Fourteen-year-old Tyeisha is a great student who loves reading -- especially mysteries and romance novels.

She wants to help people, which is why she says she either wants to go into social work or criminal justice when she grows up.

"I've had two social workers in the past, so I've seen what they do, working with kids and stuff like that," Tyeisha said recently.  "Criminal justice -- I watch TV shows like 'CSI' and stuff like that. I see what they do and I would like to do it."

More than anything else, she wants a permanent family.

"That would mean everything to me," she says.

Her social worker, Pearl Knox, says Tyeisha has a lot of love to give.

"Oh, absolutely -- a lot of warmth.  She's very giving, caring.  She loves being the center of attention, and I believe that having that home setting makes her feel whole and brings out the best in Tyeisha."
