Local Bakery Cooks Up Something Sweet For Charity

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance is an organization that delivers food to individuals and families living life-threatening illnesses. The group kicks off its biggest fundraiser of the year on Monday and it's sinfully delicious.

"It's rich and smooth and creamy and I think everyone's going to really like it," says Barry Kratchman, the president of Classic Cake Bakery. They are working with MANNA on its annual "Pie in the Sky" holiday pie sale.

"We were approached by MANNA, which is a food organization and we wanted to create this special sky pie."

The cheesecake pie has a graham cracker crust and is drizzled with chocolate and caramel and pecans.

Jennicka is one of the 50 volunteers who helped drizzle and pack the pies.

"It looks really good, it smells terrific!"

Reporter: "What does it smell like?"

"It smells like a candy store."

MANNA will sell the sky pie for $50. Pumpkin, apple and pecan pies go for $25.  For more information or to buy a pie of your own, go to MANNAPa.org.
