PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It is certainly a sign of the harsh economic times: card giant Hallmark is now selling job loss cards.

Hallmark officials say the idea is to provide a little empathy and comfort in an otherwise demoralizing and stressful situation.

Some examples of the cards include: “Don’t worry, you’ll get through this.” And another card features a sad looking cat that reads: “Heard about your job.”

So far, Hallmark says sales of the cards are strong. Other greeting card companies are expected to follow suit.
