Man Arrested For String Of Delaware Valley Robberies

ELKINS PARK, Pa. (CBS) -- A man has been arrested for a string of robberies in the Delaware Valley, including one at a dry cleaners on Friday.

According to witnesses at the Green Clean Cleaners in Elkins Park, 29-year-old Stephen Thomas Moore, of Boothwyn, walked in around 5 p.m., brandished a silver handgun, reached over the counter and took cash from the register. The suspect then fled the store in a vehicle described by the victim as a green, four door Dodge sedan.

Police from Lower Moreland and Cheltenham recognized the car's description as being similar to those given after other recent robberies, including one earlier that day in Lower Merion, and broadcast this information to other area officers, who arrested Moore in the green Dodge Sebring on Susquehanna Road.

Moore is currently being held pending his arraignment on charges of robbery, recklessly endangering another person, theft, receiving stolen property, possessing an instrument of crime and terroristic threats. Moore also has outstanding warrants for his arrest in Tredyffrin, Upper Chichester and Ridley Township.
