Delaware Police Investigate Death Of Pedestrian
LINCOLN, Del. (AP) -- Delaware State Police say they are investigating the death of a pedestrian who apparently stepped into the path of a van early Saturday morning west of Lincoln on U.S. 113.
Authorities said in a news release that a preliminary investigation revealed that a 39-year-old man walked into the southbound lanes of the highway into the path of a Pontiac transport van at about 1:20 a.m. Saturday. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The man's name has not been released pending notification of relatives.
Police say the road was closed for 3.5 hours while the crash was being investigated.
