Cape May County Police Release Sketch In Cemetery Sexual Assault Case

MIDDLE Twp., N.J. (CBS) -- Police in Cape May County have released a composite sketch of a man they say sexually assaulted a woman who had just visited a cemetery.

According to police, the assault happened just before 9:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the Fairview Methodist Cemetery in Middle Township. (see related story)

At the time, police received a call from a resident on Orbit Drive who said a bleeding woman came to his home, knocked on the door, and asked that police be called.
Police say, the 29-year-old victim, from Avalon had finished visiting a cemetery plot when she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a man who had been apparently waiting for her near a car.

The victim told police she was able to break free and run to the home on Orbit Drive.

According to police, the suspect is described as a white male, thin build, late 20′s to early 30′s, buzz cut hair with a light beard on the sides and heavier hair on his mustache and chin. At the time of the attack, he was wearing shorts and a white baggy t-shirt.
