Father-Son Pair Charged With Burglary In Rydal

ABINGTON, Pa. (CBS) - Abington police say a father and son from Upper Moreland are under arrest, accused of breaking into an occupied home in Rydal early Tuesday morning.

Police say the residents of the home in the 900 block of Susquehanna Road called 911 when they heard an intruder inside the house shortly after 12:30am.  Police arrived and found 18-year-old Jason Gentile Jr. sitting inside a vehicle outside the home.

He was arrested, and then police arrested his 38-year-old father, Jason Sr., as he left the house.

"He had a lot of items that he had gathered up in the home, put them in a sheet, and was hauling them out of the home when he was captured," says deputy police chief John Livingood.

He says the Gentiles also removed the electric meter from the home but investigators are not sure why.

Livingood says an unloaded pellet gun was found inside the house after the arrests.

The father-and-son duo are charged with burglary, theft, and related crimes.  Dad's bail was set at $50,000; his son's was set at $25,000.
