With School About To Start, Expert Says It's A Perfect Time For Kids To Establish New Habits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A local personal growth coach says the start of the school year is the perfect time to establish new habits for their kids to help them get the most out of the school year.

Teressa Moore Griffin says interacting with teens and tweens can be difficult but, without probing too hard or being too pushy, parents need to keep a handle on their kids' lives, especially with social media. Moore Griffin says bullying is becoming more of a problem and if your children are having those issues, you will begin to see it.

"And I think any of those kinds of signs that you see, change in attitude, change in behavior, change in friends and who they're taking with and the activities they're doing; those are all signs that something is afoot and you need to get to the bottom of it."

Moore Griffin suggests parents ask but don't push, and if that doesn't work, ask school and team officials.
