McGillin's Olde Ale House Gets An Early Start on Oktoberfest

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Oktoberfest is a two-and-a-half week German beer festival that's held every year beginning in mid-September. But, one local bar decided to start a little early.

Oktoberfest is back, which means German beer and wienerschnitzel will be on tap.

But wait...isn't it August???

"Being that we're Irish, we're always looking for a great reason to celebrate anything fun and beer-centric."

Chris Mullins is the General Manager at McGillians located on Drury Lane in Center City. He says they wanted to be the first to open their taps to this season's German brews.

"We have the Flying Fish Oktober Fish. We will be having the Victory Fest Beer on, right now we have Stoudt's Fest on."

And they'll get more over the next few weeks. Plus food.

"We will be doing wienerschnitzel, yagerschnitzel..."

McGillan's will host Oktober fest activities through October 1st.
