The Publisher Of Main Line Today Shares How The "Best Of" Issue Is Made

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – What's the Best of the Main Line?

Main Line Today celebrated their 2011 "Best of" issue this week.

"It takes us close to four months to put the issue together," says publisher JB Braun.

Reporter: "How many winners do you have in this issue?"

Braun: "280, almost 300 this time around."

Reporter: "Is that a record?"

Braun: "I do believe that this is our highest number of winners, yes."

He says a lot goes into the issue, especially when it comes to the food categories.

"There are lots of catfights in the office. We talk about the food probably the most. A lot of scratching and clawing because folks want to see their favorite restaurants represented."

How do they choose who wins?

"Most of the issue is filled with reader's picks, and then there a couple of critic's picks and a couple of editor's picks."

Reporter: "What's the biggest fight in the office when it comes to picking the Best of?

Braun: "It's always over food and then if you have to narrow that down, it's usually over dessert."
