New App To Buy Food, Drinks And More From Your Seats At The Linc

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - With Eagles single-game seats on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, picture yourself with ticket in hand, watching the Birds play down after down -- without ever having to leave your perch to get something to eat or drink. It's a reality for some fans at Lincoln Financial Field this season.

The team quietly started testing a smartphone app during the Cowboys game in January. Only 25 ticket holders got to try it then.

Now, Tim McDermott, Eagles Chief Marketing Officer, says it will be open to a wider audience, but still limited to the club level.

"You go to a menu that we've set up -- it includes a variety of different food as well as beverages. You can make a purchase directly from your phone and the food or beverage is delivered to your seat," McDermott said.

They will offer merchandise too, meaning you can get a roast pork sandwich and beer to spill all over your brand-new replica jersey -- all without standing up (except to cheer).

"The ability to stay in your seat, watch the game, not miss a play is just a great opportunity for people," McDermott said.

The app, called Bypasslane, is free. You enter your credit card details and get eats delivered -- all for the same price as waiting in line.

A sample menu at the recent Philadelphia Union-Real Madrid soccer game at the Linc included a Philly-style pork sandwich ($14), Madrid-style chicken skewers ($13), a soft pretzel ($2), top-shelf liquor ($9) and beer (domestic $7.25; imported $7.50).

Now they just need a program to let you skip the bathroom lines.
