Police Identify Woman Who Died In Route 70 Collision In Burlington County As Ocean County Detective

SOUTHAMPTON, N.J. (CBS) - Authorities have identified the woman who died in a head-on crash in Burlington County Monday morning as an Ocean County detective.

Police said at about 8 a.m., Tina Rambo, 35, was driving eastbound on Route 70 near New Road in Southampton Township when her blue Ford Crown Victoria crashed into a silver Saturn Ion traveling westbound.

A preliminary investigation conducted by N.J. State Police indicates the Saturn, which was driven by 24-year-old Rachel Portnoy of Marlton, was in the oncoming eastbound lane at the time of the accident. Portnoy was transported to Cooper University Hospital with serious leg injuries. Rambo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rambo had been employed by the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office since 2000. She was married to Roy Rambo, Jr. and is survived by two children, her parents, and three siblings.

"I along with all members of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office extend our deep condolences to the family of Tina Rambo, and mourn the loss of our co-worker, colleague and friend, Tina Rambo," said Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford.

No tickets are charges have been issued at this time. Police continue to investigate this crash.
