PECO Officials Investigate Transformer Malfunction At Downtown Headquarters

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- What happens when an electric company loses the juice?

The same thing that happens to the rest of us -- the lights go out.

That's what employees at Peco headquarters along the 2300 block of Market Street had to deal with this afternoon.

They were evacuated from the building around 2:15, when officials say a transformer malfunctioned.

No injuries are reported. A Peco spokeswoman says workers were sent home early, and the company is looking into what happened.
