Soccer: Philadelphia Union's Mondragon Selected As MLS All-Star

CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - The 2011 Major League Soccer All-Star team has been unveiled, and it includes Philadelphia Union goalie Faryd Mondragon.

He is one of 22 players who will join together to take on Manchester United in the 2011 MLS All-Star Game at Red Bull Arena in North Jersey on July 27th.

Mondragon has been phenomenal for the Union in this, his first season with the team.  He has posted seven shutouts in his 19 games, compiling a 0.84 GAA.

With Mondragon serving as captain, the Union have posted an 8-4-7 record, good for 31 points.  They lead the MLS Eastern Conference by two points over second-place New York.
