Eastern State Penitentiary Hosts Upcoming Screening Of '12 Monkeys'

PHILADEPHIA (CBS) - A historic landmark in Fairmount will be hosting an outdoor movie night next week, and the scenery may look familiar.

It's not often you get a chance to watch a movie at the very location where it was shot. But Eastern State Penitentiary is getting ready swing open its gates for "12 Monkeys" on Wednesday night. It was shot there in the 90s.

"As people walk into the showing, you'll be walking through the spaces that the movie '12 Monkeys' used as the set, then seeing them on the screen, then seeing them as you walk out later," says Sean Kelly, Director of Public Programming at Eastern State.

Kelly also says that the movie will be projected on the inside wall of the exercise yard on Wednesday night, and moviegoers will sit on the baseball diamond.

"We ask people to bring their own blankets and beach chairs. It' just a big open field and a huge wall. "

Space is limited. For tickets, go to www.easternstate.org.
