Police Search For Suspect In Philadelphia Bank Robbery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Local and federal law enforcement are on the lookout for the woman who robbed a bank on East Allegany Avenue in Philadelphia Thursday afternoon.

Federal officials say the woman walked into the Beneficial Bank in the 800 block of East Allegheny Avenue and presented the clerk with a threatening note. She then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and took off on foot.

Special Agent J.J. Klaver says investigators have a clear picture of the suspect.

"She is a Hispanic female in her mid-20s, about 5 feet 3 inches tall with dark, curly hair. She was wearing a white shirt, dark pants, sandals."

Authorities say the woman didn't appear to have a gun and no one was hurt in the robbery.
Philadelphia Police ask that anyone with information to contact the FBI at 215-418-4000.
