Police Search For Suspect Who Allegedly Inappropriately Touched 3-Year-Old Inside Delaware Burger King

LAUREL, Del. (CBS) - Police are searching for a male suspect after he allegedly touched a 3-year-old boy inappropriately inside the bathroom of a Sussex County fast food restaurant on Friday.

According to authorities, the incident happened at about 6:15 p.m. in Laurel at a Burger King located in the 24000 block of Sussex Highway. Police say a woman waited in line to receive her order while her son went to the men's restroom.

A short time later, the woman went to check on the child and called out to him through the bathroom door. After the son did not respond, the woman called out again but instead a male patron opened the door and asked if the child in the bathroom was hers.

The mother then looked in the bathroom where she observed her son standing inside with his pants down around his ankles and his shirt missing. Police say it was at this point that the male suspect exited the stall inside of the bathroom, holding the victim's shirt.

The mother and her child fled the restaurant and went to a nearby residence where the woman than contacted the authorities.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 50 and 60 years of age and approximately 5'5" to 5'9" tall with a large built. He was last seen wearing tan pants, a short-sleeved shirt, black cap and glasses.

On the night of the incident, the suspect was seen entering a gold or silver vehicle described as possibly being a Dodge Neon. Further investigation revealed the suspect had touched the victim's private area while they were in the bathroom.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Delaware State Police at 302-337-1090.
