DIY Network's 'House Crashers' Creates Ultimate Phillies Phan Room

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Have you ever seen one of those home makeover shows and wondered how the homeowners are picked?

It turns out, sometimes it's pure luck.

Center City resident Johnny McDonald swung by his area hardware store Sunday morning to pick up some plants for his wife Tiffany, when he was ambushed by the crew of the DIY Network's "House Crashers."

They were looking for the ultimate Phillies fan, and decided Johnny was their man. The crew offered to makeover the McDonald's basement and backyard to reflect their love of the Phillies, and the homeowners quickly said an enthusiastic "Yes!"

On Monday morning, "House Crashers" host Josh Temple, former Phillies pitcher and current MLB Network analyst Mitch Williams and dozens of contractors knocked on the McDonald's door and got to work.

The Phanatic even stopped by to help out!

By Wednesday night, the work was finished and the ultimate Phillies phan room was complete.

Johnny said that he's "super excited and a little afraid all my friends will never leave."

Johnny, you can't really blame them.

The episode is expected to air in the fall.
