Phillie Phanatic Back In The Lineup After Getting Drilled With Foul Ball

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Phillie Phanatic is expected to be back in action tonight, after he was whacked with a foul ball Wednesday night in Allentown.

He may have been conked with a foul ball, but the Phillie Phanatic is expected to resume antagonizing umpires and opposing players tonight at Citizens Bank Park. This, after a foul ball skipped off a dugout roof and hit the Phanatic right below the snout Wednesday night at the  Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs game.

The guy who knows the Phanatic the best, Tom Burgoyne, was treated at a hospital.

"I'm so close to the Phanatic. When he hurts, I hurt. And it turns out, he got hit in the neck. I somehow woke up with a big knot over my eye and a black eye, but everything's fine."

A replacement friend accompanied the Phanatic to last night's minor league game in Lakewood, but Burgoyne says he'll be back for tonight's interleague game against Oakland.

No word on whether the Phanatic will be sporting a bandage over his green fur.
