Camden 6-Alarm Fire Being Investigated As Arson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Camden County officials now say the six-alarm fire Sunday morning in Camden is being investigated as arson.

Jason Laughlin of the Camden County Prosecutor's Office says the investigation is being carried out by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office and Camden Police Department.

"There are very good leads that we're following up on, this information that we've received is going to help the investigation, but I can't give you any information on what that is," Laughlin explained.

The fire was reported around 5 a.m. Sunday and quickly escalated to six alarms, before being brought under control around 8 a.m. (see related story).

The site of the latest multi-alarm fire is the vacant Concord chemical factory, which was recently cleaned up by the EPA.

Laughlin says there is no one in custody.
