Wildwood Ferris Wheel, Scene of Fatal Fall, Reopens Saturday

WILDWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- A Ferris wheel in New Jersey from which an 11-year-old girl fell to her death this month will reopen Saturday with new safety precautions.

Morey's Piers in Wildwood says in a statement that it accepts state recommendations that there be a minimum of two passengers per car. It is also raising the minimum height required to ride from 54 inches to 60 inches.

The cause of the fall that killed Abiah Jones of Pleasantville has not been determined. Her parents have called for the installation of seat belts or some other sort of restraining device on Ferris wheels nationwide. (See Related Story ...)
