Party Time At The Kimmel Center For Summer Solstice

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Kimmel Center marks the end of their season with their ninth annual Summer Solstice party on Saturday.

Megan Fitzgerald, director of programming at the Kimmel Center, says the Summer Solstice party consists of nonstop events into the night.

"It's 14 hours of programming. It's a community event. We try to highlight all the local artists. We have five stages active in the Kimmel Center throughout the entire day," Fitzgerald said.

And there is something new this year.

"This year we did a contest on YouTube where audience members got to vote for who they wanted to see at Solstice and those winners will be performing on the Commonwealth Plaza stage," Fitzgerald said.

Fitzgerald said the party will begin at noon and go until 2:30am Sunday morning.

Tickets are $5 for children, $10 for adults. A complete schedule can be found online at kimmelcenter.org
