Odunde Organizers Shoot For World Exercise Record In Advance Of Festival

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Organizers of one of Philadelphia's largest cultural festivals will attempt to break the record for the largest "Zumba" exercise class ever, on Saturday.

The Guinness World Record for the largest Zumba fitness class is held by students at Clemson University, when 1,294 people worked out together on May 16th of this year (above).

Organizers of the Odunde festival -- this weekend's festival focusing on African and African-American culture -- decided to attempt to break that record with a gathering this Saturday at 9 AM, at Saint Joseph's University.

"Odunde is not only about educating you and giving you a piece of African culture," says Odunde president and CEO Oshunbumi Fernandez, "but we also want your mind and your body to be in synch."

To preregister for the Zumba world record attempt on Saturday, go to odundefestival.org or call 1-888-765-9569.
