Should Rep. Anthony Weiner Be Forced To Resign For Sending Lewd Photos?

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The apology by New York Congressman Anthony Weiner isn't enough according to some local residents in Philadelphia who say the congressman should resign after admitting to sending lewd photos of himself to another woman.

"When you do the crime you have to do the time at the end of the day the apology isn't enough," said Yeadon resident Yvonne Williams.

"I think once you lie, there's nothing else after that," said Dave Brocklebank of Niagara Falls, Canada.

"Personally, I feel we all have done things that are contradictory to who we portray ourselves to be," said Melissa James from West Philadelphia. "We all have done things, we all need forgiveness, so it should be forgotten."

Meanwhile, local Employment Discrimination Attorney Sid Gold says whether Weiner used his personal phone or not to send messages, doesn't matter. The issue, according to Gold, is that the congressman lied.

"Once you break the trust of the people you represent, it's time for you to step down," said Gold.

Marriage Counselor and sex therapist Alex Robboy from The Center for Growth, says nowadays social networking makes it much easier for people to cheat. But, depending on the couple, sending explicit pictures to others, might not be so taboo.

"The beauty is there are no rules," said Robboy. "What I always say is, it's between you and your spouse. The two of you coming together with the same definition and same understanding and setting your own boundaries."
