Woman Delivers Sextuplets At Abington Hospital

ABINGTON, Pa. (CBS) -- The Philadelphia region has a new set of sextuplets. The parents, who wish to remain anonymous, gave birth to three boys and three girls at a Montgomery County hospital.

The babies were born Wednesday morning at Abington Memorial Hospital. Further details about the babies, including there conditions were not immediately available. The hospital says they were born premature and are in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). More information will be released in the near future and at the family's discretion.

Sextuplets are usually born at 29 weeks, as opposed to a full-term baby born at 40 weeks and their average birth weight is two and a half pounds.

This is the second set of sextuplets known to this region. Another famous set includes the Gosselins, stars of the television reality show "Kate Plus 8" – formerly "John & Kate Plus 8."
