Sorority Treasurer Charged With Stealing Funds In Delaware

OCEAN VIEW, Del. (AP) -- Delaware State Police have charged the treasurer of a sorority with theft after they say she stole more than $4,000 from the group.

Twenty-nine-year-old Becky Mills of Ocean View is also charged with issuing a bad check. She was released on $400 unsecured bail.

Troopers say he president of the Beta Sigma Phi Chapter V/Xi Upsilon Sorority was told by the sorority's bank that two accounts belonging to the sorority had been depleted. Police say Mills had written numerous checks to herself from the sorority accounts between April 26 and May 12.

Troopers say the first theft was committed one day after Mills was named treasurer.
