PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia homicide detectives are investigating what they have labeled a suspicious infant death Sunday night in the 4300 block of North 5th Street in the city’s Hunting Park section.

Detectives say 911 was called by a guardian or caretaker of the child at 11:58 p.m. because the child was not breathing and not responding to CPR.

When a medic unit arrived, the infant was rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, but he was later pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives say there was no obvious sign of injury or foul play.

Police stress that no cause of death has been determined pending the determination of a medical examiner’s autopsy.

The deceased infant has been identified as three-month-old Aiden Jameer Santiago, who apparently had been left in the care of a relative.
