Philadelphia's Interfaith Peace Walk Is Next Weekend In Overbrook

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Preparations are being finalized for next Sunday's Philadelphia Interfaith Walk for Peace and Reconciliation, which will be held in Overbrook Farms.

The Interfaith Peace Walk is an annual gathering organized by Jews, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Baha'i and others who are committed to working toward multi-religious and cross-cultural cooperation.

This year, the so-called walking dialogue, will take place next Sunday in the Overbrook Farms section of Philadelphia and will include stops at the African Episcopal Church of Saint Thomas, the Bawa Muhaiyadeen Fellowship, and the Overbrook Presbyterian Church.

"At each congregation we honor the other. So it's a way for people to get to know each other," says Ayesha Weinberg of the Fellowship, a Sufi Muslim congregation.

She says there'll be music, prayers and poetry at each stop.
